.............. Welcome, hope you enjoy your visit ..............
Who is Roger Guevremont? ........
Roger grew up in Red Rock in Nothwestern Ontario about 100 km east of Thunder Bay. Hobbies and activities included painting with oils, adopted from his mom who enjoyed to paint. After high school he moved to Montreal to study at McGill University. Graduating with a chemistry degree he then advanced to the University of Alberta where he worked with Dallas Rabenstein and obtained a PhD degree specializing in analytical chemistry. He was fortunate and started work at the National Research Council of Canada (NRC). During that time he took a year of sabbatical leave to work with Richard Yost at the University of Florida doing mass spectrometry (of course). After returning to NRC in Canada, he came upon work done by a group of Russian scientists. Roger saw the potential for further study and he established a new technology for mass spectrometry called FAIMS. He started a company called Ionalytics which was to further develop FAIMS (and did). After a few years Ionalytics (and about 20 patents) was acquired by ThermoFisher Scientific who is presently commercializing and selling FAIMS.
On july 1st 2005 Roger Guevremont (on a motorcycle) was hit by a car that suddenly swerved into his lane and hit him head-on. Roger was in Intensive Care for about 6 months and his wife was told he was not expected to survive. Roger defied those predictions, thanks to the determination of his medical team, and the strong support (and prayers) of family and friends.
Having lost a leg and much memory, Roger undertook the search for a new career. After much prayer asking for a 'hint', it was delivered. When dabbling with his paints, a stunning painting seemed to just flow from his brush. That was a proper 'hint' and painting was the new chosen direction.
At present Roger gets pleasure from painting pretty lady's faces.

What can a person with one leg missing, a disabled left arm, and poor memory do???
